Get your Christmas Spirit on!

Our tiny CAB crew has been embracing the cold weather inside & out this week! From snow hills to igloo-building with sugar cubes, they're making the most of winter! ❄️⛄

Winter is Here!
Happy Friday CAB Families!
Winter is here! And that can mean snowy roads, cold recess, and delays in bussing at times. I wanted to take a minute to review some winter policies, in case anyone has questions.
School Closing Policy: If Boyne City or Boyne Falls Schools close due to weather and roads, we will automatically close. However, especially now that we have bussing, we do look at the areas on our route, and take that into consideration. Because we cover a wide area, we may close on days they choose to stay open. It is always my goal to close by 6:00am if it's going to happen, as we know you may need to change your plans. But, we know Michigan weather, and sometimes we get blindsided at 6:20. Hopefully that doesn't happen!
In addition to text alerts, I call in to 7&4 News, 9&10 News, and the local radio stations as well to announce closings. You can also find it on Facebook!
Dropping Off K-3 Students: Please know that young students need to have an adult at the drop-off location to meet them. We cannot leave young students alone, so please make sure to be at their stops when they get dropped off. If there is an older sibling with them (above 3rd grade), we can drop them off without adults present.
In the event that a child can't be dropped off, they'll stay on the bus with us while we continue our route. We will call you if we don't see you at your stop, and come up with a plan to have you pick up your child at a different location. Please know that it is illegal for a school bus driver to answer their cell phone while driving on a route, so sometimes it takes a little time to coordinate next steps. I hope you also know that we'll keep your child safe in the meantime!
Outdoor Recess: Please send your child with all the clothing needed for outside recess, since we go outside as long as it's above 5, with the "feels-like" temperature taken into account.
We look forward to seeing you at the upcoming Winter Concert on December 18th! Have a wonderful weekend, and stay warm!

Good Morning!
Our EJ route will run normally this afternoon! Again, we apologize for the inconvenience this morning!
Good Morning CAB Families!
Winter is here, and I just wanted to take a minute to make you aware of our outdoor recess policy. Please make sure that your child has all of the gear: hat, mittens or gloves, snow pants, boots, and a winter jacket for outside recess. We take kids outside as long as the "feels like" temperature is 5 or above. If it is less that that, we'll keep them in.
Students are welcome to keep items here and bring them home on weekends, or transport them daily, that's up to you. If a student is missing snow pants, for example, we'll still have them go outside, but they'll stay on the black top so they don't get wet.
As far as outside is concerned, we remind students there is no throwing snowballs, no going in the woods, no playing with sticks (unless making arms for a snowman), and that we want to be safe if we sled.
If you are in need of any winter clothing for your child, please check our Winter Clothes Rack in the foyer, there may be something in the right size! We take donations for that all winter long as well!

The Lions have shown up! Thank you for sending some generosity to our little school in Northern Michigan! 💙🩶🏈 Nollie is thankful to have her moment!

I still do not have a time on the East Jordan bus route, so feel free to transport your children if you're able. If you're unable to transport them, please contact the office and we will excuse them for the day. Thank you!
Good Morning Everyone! Our EJ bus route will be delayed this morning because of a bus issue. As soon as I have an approximate length of the delay, I'll let you know!
Happy Monday Everyone! Tomorrow is our LAST day of school for the week, and Jo's a reminder that if you want to help support the Junior Class, you can pay $1 to wear PJs or a hat! We'll see you all tomorrow!
We can call out again! Thank you for your patience!
Good morning! Just a note that we are currently unable to make phone calls out from our school lines. You can call us, but we can't call you! Please bear with us while we try to get it fixed!
This month we are looking at the character trait of generosity.
A huge THANK YOU to FOCO for their amazing generosity! 🎉
My students were so excited to receive their drawstring backpacks each one featuring their drafted NFL team logo! 🏈🎒
Your kindness brought big smiles to our classroom and made our students feel truly special. We are so grateful for your support and for investing in our kids.
Thank you, FOCO, for making a difference! 🙌💚💛

The November 17 Board meeting has been rescheduled for Monday, December 8, 2025, at 6:00pm. The December 15 meeting has also been cancelled.
The Parent Group and Senior Class are bringing holiday crafts to a town near you!

📘 Middle School Planners – 2nd Quarter Update!
As we start the second quarter, our 6th–8th grade students will be required to use their planners each day. Students need to bring their planners to all core classes — Science, Math, English, and Social Studies.
They’ll be writing down whether they have homework (or “no homework”) in each subject, and teachers will be initialing their planners daily. This helps students stay organized and teaches responsibility!
We’ve been getting used to this process during the past week to help everyone be ready for the new quarter.
💡 Parents, please make sure to ask your student about their planner each day! Your encouragement at home really helps reinforce these new habits.

Thank you Dallas Cowboys for showing some generosity to A'Layna! Today we were doing an assignment on generosity and your happy mail was perfect timing!

Homecoming Dance is Saturday November 15 for grades 9-12. It will be held in the Auditorium at Concord Academy Boyne from 8:30pm - 10:30 pm.

Homecoming week is here! Dress-up themes are on the flyer. Can't wait to see the school spirit!
